The Hamblen County Commission approved two personnel appointments during its Nov. 20 meeting.

The mayor recommended reappointing Deputy Chief Chris Wise Carver to the E911 Emergency Communications District board to finish a term expiring Aug. 31, 2026; Carver had been removed previously for consecutive unexcused absences under the referenced Tennessee statute. The clerk recorded the vote as 10 in favor, 1 abstention, with two commissioners absent; the motion passed and Carver was reappointed.

The mayor also recommended Karen Noonan to fill the vacancy on the Public Records Commission (the county-historian slot), citing Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) requirements; commissioners corrected a typographical error in the agenda language, moved, seconded and approved the appointment.
