The LaSalle County Committee on Appointments, Legislation and Rules approved two appointment resolutions on Nov. 26.
Jim Johnson was appointed to the Seneca Regional Port District Board to fill a vacancy beginning Dec. 1, 2025, with the term ending Nov. 30, 2028 (or until a successor is qualified). The chair recommended the appointment; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
The committee also appointed Sarah Escottel as a citizen-at-large member of the LaSalle County 708 Mental Health Board effective upon passage and continuing through Nov. 30, 2029 (or until a qualified successor is appointed). The motion carried on a voice vote.
Why it matters: These appointments fill vacancies on two county-related bodies that advise on port operations and mental-health services, respectively. No substantive debate or dissent was recorded in committee discussion for these items.
Next steps: The appointees' terms begin as stated; no follow-up tasks were recorded in the committee discussion.
