The Douglas County School District board approved a five‑year interlocal agreement with Douglas County to operate the Warrior Way paid‑parking program and accepted a revenue check for the district.
Brooke Ady, Douglas County’s community services director, said the county brought a revised five‑year agreement to the board and summarized last year’s results: gross revenue of about $160,201 and a net profit of roughly $128,747. Under the revenue‑sharing proposal, 40 percent of net revenue would go to the Douglas County School District, 40 percent to Douglas County Parks and Recreation and 20 percent to the parent groups that help manage the program. County staff presented a district payment of $49,683.05 and asked the board to approve the revised agreement starting in May of the new operating year.
Trustees asked detailed questions about vending options, citing last‑year use of the Honk mobile app and eventual plans to install credit‑card kiosks (vendors discussed included FlowBird and Venntek/Vintech). Ryan Stanton, deputy director, estimated the kiosks would cost about $10,000–$15,000 each and said the county intends to install two units, including an ADA‑accessible kiosk.
Trustee Knighting moved to approve the five‑year interlocal contract; Trustee Jansen seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
