Tracy Lyons, representing the Chamber of Commerce, presented a year‑end summary to the City Council highlighting membership gains, events and community partnerships.
Lyons said the Chamber added 67 new members in November and reported about 513 active members overall, a notable increase toward the Chamber's goal of reaching 500 total members. "It's been a wonderful year for the Chamber, and for our business community," Lyons said, citing 17 ribbon cuttings, more than 72 events, and roughly 750 attendees at monthly business after‑hours sessions.
Lyons highlighted a collaborative housing symposium hosted with three jurisdictions and noted three follow‑up sessions in December to continue work on housing topics. She also praised internship partnerships with Washington and Lee University, naming Claire Hutchison as a student intern who worked on the Chamber's year‑end materials.
Council members thanked Lyons and emphasized collaboration among the Chamber, city staff and Main Street Lexington. Lyons encouraged support for upcoming local promotions and events, including a "cash mob" and Pink Friday promotions.
