The current units were installed in 2006 and are at the end of their service life; staff said the original vendor was acquired by Glasgow and that a like‑for‑like direct replacement would minimize construction and provide another 20–25 years of service. Staff requested sole‑source purchase authority not to exceed $250,010; after questions about cooling systems and replacement parts, council approved the purchase.
Council also reapproved a prior authorization to purchase a bucket truck through a cooperative contract with Versa Lift (contract number 110421‑TIM) with an updated not‑to‑exceed amount of $219,045.75 to cover use tax and ADOT registration fees. Staff said the vehicle would reduce crew sizes for aerial work and would be shared among town departments. Council approved the reauthorization by motion and vote.
