District staff provided an update on a community survey tied to possible referendum planning, reporting substantially higher response rates this week.
As of 7:45 a.m. on the day of the meeting, staff reported 486 parent responses (up from 214), 368 staff responses (up from 241) and 933 community responses (up from 70), for a total of 1,787 responses. The district plans a reminder message to parents and staff before the survey closes on Nov. 26 and said referendum consultants will meet with the board on Dec. 8 to review findings ahead of an April 7 ballot.
"With the numbers that we're seeing right here, that's a great count to be able to get some good data on what our community is wanting from us in terms of a possible referendum question on the ballot on April 7," a staff member said. The board thanked staff for outreach efforts and survey sessions, and the district said it will continue community engagement ahead of consultant debriefings in December.
