October gaming revenues rise; mobile sports wagering and riverboat receipts increase

Donna Jackson of the Louisiana State Police Gaming Audit Section told the board that October 2025 brought higher adjusted gross receipts across multiple gaming categories.

Jackson said the 15 operating riverboats generated adjusted gross receipts of $157,244,776 in October, producing state fees totaling $33,807,627. Fiscal‑year‑to‑date adjusted gross receipts were reported about $600.8 million, an increase of roughly $51.7 million (9%) from the prior fiscal year. Caesars New Orleans reported $24,275,570 in gross gaming revenue for October, a month‑over‑month increase of roughly $4.8 million (24.6%).

Slots at four racetrack facilities combined to produce $25,227,265 in adjusted gross receipts for October, a rise of about 6.7% from the prior month. Video gaming device net device revenue for October was $66,838,170; Jackson reported 12,482 activated video gaming devices at 1,376 locations. For sportsbook activity, retail locations accepted about $28,000,000 in sports wagers (net proceeds $3,600,000), while mobile sportsbooks accepted about $430,800,000 in wagers (net proceeds $47,900,000) and produced approximately $10,300,000 in state taxes.

Jackson noted some calendar effects — October this year had one additional Friday compared with last month and last October, a factor that can affect month‑to‑month comparisons. Fiscal‑year‑to‑date franchise and fee collections were reported in the tens of millions of dollars across categories and will be reflected in the board’s monthly report to the state.
