LaPorte County alcohol board forwards renewals to ATC; Board 2 approves a two-year renewal and adjourns

The board then noted it did not have a full quorum but read aloud a slate of automatic renewals that included Monroe’s Crossing, New Carbide, Sky Express Travel Plaza, Wanata, Maid East, several Michigan City local-option items, Chappie Stadium Inn, India House, Waterford Inn, La Porte Heron Inn and others. A Health Department representative said they had no issues with the listed renewals.
Because Board 1 lacked a quorum and no administrators were present to act, the board moved to forward the automatic renewals to ATC for processing. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. "All in favor? Aye," Sikorski said after the vote. The board also voted to accept the October minutes before adjourning Board 1.
Board number 2 convened with Lisa Daniel King presiding and confirmed it had a quorum with three members present, including Matt Sikorski and Michelle Traver representing State Excise. King presented one automatic renewal, recorded in the transcript as "doing business as May's March," and a motion to grant a two-year automatic renewal was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. The board then approved its October minutes and adjourned at 10:04 a.m.
No contested permit hearings, formal violations, or public opposition were recorded on the transcript.
