Fulton County commissioners approve permits, bridge acceptance and professional contracts; multiple motions pass unanimously

At their Nov. 17 meeting, Fulton County commissioners approved multiple roadside permits for fiber installation, accepted Bridge 161 as complete, approved a multi-hazard mitigation plan services contract and a year’s depreciation contract; board votes on these motions were unanimous (3–0).
Fulton County commissioners on Monday approved a series of routine but consequential administrative actions including roadwork permits, the formal acceptance of a completed bridge project and several county contracts.
The board approved four permits from Pierce Services on behalf of Frontier to install fiber optic lines and bore under county roadways (permits numbered 2530–2533) after staff said plan reviews showed no issues. A commissioner moved to approve the four permits and the board carried the motion unanimously.
A separate permit (2534) for work at 711 Brentwood Drive in Akron and a driveway/entrance permit (2535) for 5537 East 250 South (a 50–60 foot driveway) also passed on motions. Staff said John Flint inspected the driveway location and determined no culvert was required.
On infrastructure, staff reported that Bridge 161’s final inspection and punch list were complete and asked the board to accept the project so it could be closed out; the commissioners approved acceptance of Bridge 161 (vote recorded as 3–0). Staff also said RQAW is finalizing a federal-aid application for Bridge 170 with a submission target before the Dec. 5 deadline.
In administrative business the board approved acceptance of fall bids, approved the Fulton County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan update professional services proposal and signed the Peterson Consulting Services contract for annual depreciation reporting. Those motions also passed unanimously.
Financial items on the consent-style portion of the agenda included approval of minutes, transfer requests, travel requests (with commissioners abstaining when an item applied to them), and claims. Commissioners approved claims totaling $492,998.88 for Nov. 17; payroll lines and other distributions were read into the record for transparency.
