DeKalb County fire department provides brush truck update; delivery projected for April

A fire-department representative told the DeKalb County Redevelopment Commission on Nov. 12 that the county’s new brush truck is at a vendor in Spencer, Michigan, and that all parts are present, with a projected delivery date of April 1.
Adam, the committee chair for the vehicle purchase, said: "Truck is up at Spencer in Michigan. All the parts are there. We have a projected delivery date, April 1." He described the truck’s livery as a white body with green and gold and said graphics will reference a local East Side mascot.
Commission members asked no substantive questions and accepted the update. The presentation followed an agenda amendment to allow the fire department to provide the briefing during this meeting.
The commission’s financial materials later noted the final payments for the vehicle may fall in 2027 or 2028, and staff said they will continue to monitor timing so the county does not overcommit funds. The commission did not take any formal action on the truck during the meeting.
