County GIS and survey staff asked the board to approve two agreements (LiDAR and aerial/oblique imagery) with EagleView to update contours and high-resolution imagery for county mapping and permitting. The LiDAR and imagery work will continue the county's three-year imagery cycle and support assessor work, surveyors, title companies and municipal partners.
Staff said the LiDAR and aerial contracts will be funded through capital planning approved by council and that the vendor held pricing near previous cycles; the total quoted was roughly $113,222 for LiDAR and an additional amount for aerial imagery, resulting in a multi-year commitment with payments spread across the approved schedule. "It's important to have all that updated," the presenter said, noting the last LiDAR updates were in 2017 and 2023 and emphasizing that state-provided imagery flights have been delayed.
Commissioners approved the LiDAR contract and the EagleView master services aerial-imagery agreement by voice votes and asked staff to reexamine flight frequency at the next contract cycle to confirm whether a three-year cadence remains optimal for county needs.
Staff will proceed with contracting for the 2026 imaging cycle and return to the board if schedule or budget adjustments are required.
