Flagler County elects Pennington as chair, Carney as vice chair for 2026

The Flagler County Board of County Commissioners reorganized leadership for 2026 during its Nov. 17 meeting, electing Commissioner Pennington as chair and Commissioner Kim Carney as vice chair.
Mister Rodriguez conducted the roll-call vote for chair after nominations. Commissioner Kearney nominated Commissioner Pennington; the roll call returned five ayes and the board declared Commissioner Pennington chair for the coming year.
As chair, Pennington then opened nominations for vice chair. Commissioner Hansen nominated Kim Carney; the nomination was seconded and a roll-call vote again returned 5-0, electing Carney as vice chair. Both selections take effect immediately, per the board'adopted rules of procedure.
Board members offered brief congratulations. No public comment was recorded on the reorganization.
