Tinley Park committee approves job fair MOU and several routine contracts

The Tinley Park Committee of the Whole on Nov. 4 approved a memorandum of understanding to co-host the Southwest Job Fair and voted to award several municipal contracts, including demolition at 17116 Oak Park Avenue and preliminary engineering for Oak Park Avenue resurfacing.
Donna, speaking during item 4, described the event as “the third annual” and said “this will be the second time at the convention center. It’s scheduled for January 15 at the convention center from 11 till 2.” Trustees moved to forward the MOU with the Village of Orland Park and Orland Township to the village board for final consideration; the motion carried on a roll call vote.
The committee also approved a contract with R.C. Wegman Construction Company for demolition of the structure at 17116 Oak Park Avenue. The contract was moved and seconded with no substantive questions from trustees; the roll call vote carried.
An agreement with Robinson Engineering to perform phase 1 engineering for resurfacing Oak Park Avenue was presented and approved after a motion and roll call. Trustees likewise approved a job order contract with Roby Construction for Community Development boiler replacements at Village Hall.
The clerk opened the public comment period; no residents addressed the committee. A motion to adjourn passed by roll call and the meeting ended at 5:53 p.m.; the chair noted a seven-minute break before the next session.
