The Lake County Community Redevelopment Agency board voted to approve a commercial facade improvement grant for Bamboo Grove LLC to repair and replace damaged siding and repaint a property on Sorrento Avenue.
Meg Brew, director for the Office of Economic Development, told the board the commercial facade improvement program disqualifies painting as a standalone project but allows painting when it accompanies major facade work such as siding repair or replacement. "The commercial facade improvement program disqualifies painting from allowable projects unless the painting is done in conjunction with other major facade improvements such as siding repair or replacement, which is the case here," she said.
Brew said the application packet was complete and estimated the fiscal impact at $9,793.83, which she said is within and will not exceed the FY26 CRA budget. An unnamed commissioner asked how the county notifies businesses about the program; Brew said the program is posted on the county website, a flyer was developed, and volunteers and community members have distributed information locally.
The motion to approve Bamboo Grove LLC’s application carried by voice vote after a motion and second were recorded.
The board offered brief closing remarks and adjourned the meeting.
