Rick Henke, president and CEO of Livestream Behavioral Center, told commissioners the organization is expanding services in Lake County and is preparing to open a crisis stabilization/Baker Act receiving capability in South Lake County. Henke said the center served "over 42,000 residents" last year across Lake and neighboring counties and that the county’s investment is highly leveraged by state and federal grants.
Henke asked the board to consider a $75,000 increase in county support to help complete the South Lake facility and programming. County staff told the board there are clerk‑of‑court fines available for substance‑abuse programs that could be used for the additional funding so it would not come from the general fund. After discussion, the board approved the $75,000 request and asked Livestream to proceed with licensure steps and to return with progress reports.
