Gadsden County TDC approves several event sponsorships and reimbursements

The Gadsden County Tourist Development Council approved a series of event funding requests during its Nov. 12 meeting, awarding marketing‑eligible reimbursements and setting an annual cap for a recurring partner.
The council voted to reimburse the Country Kings Motorcycle annual event $1,000 for marketing‑eligible expenses that met the TDC criteria. The motion to reimburse was made and carried by voice vote.
The council also approved a $5,000 cap for Chattahoochee Main Street to cover multiple events during fiscal year 2025–26, consistent with the TDC policy that limits sponsorship awards to $5,000 per entity per fiscal year. Board members noted the cap will cover a suite of events (final Fridays, holiday programming, downtown beautification, a 5K and other recurring activities).
Havana’s Winterfest and Christmas Parade requested sponsorship options; the TDC approved a $1,500 parade sponsorship package, with the expectation the organization will provide deliverables tied to sponsorship benefits. The board emphasized the committee’s recent posture to move from upfront sponsorships toward reimbursable events with receipts when feasible, while retaining limited discretion for events that clearly drive visitation.
A late application from Ola Gadsden for a soccer/festival request was approved for up to $1,000 as a reimbursable marketing grant on condition that funds be spent only on eligible marketing items and that receipts or other documentation be provided.
In old business the council confirmed satisfaction with services from Room 4 and approved payment of a $5,000 invoice from the previous fiscal year.
Most motions were approved by voice vote; board members instructed staff to ensure award conditions are clear and to track deliverables and room‑night certifications where applicable.
