The Delaware County Stormwater Board voted unanimously Dec. 1 to adopt Resolution 2025-14 to acquire a used Timco regenerative air street sweeper from the Muncie Sanitary District for $20,000.
Board leadership described the vehicle as a cost-saving opportunity. Unidentified Speaker (S1) said the sweeper has 63,033 miles on the drive engine and nearly 7,000 hours on the pony motor, and called it a “good opportunity here to get a street sweeper for $20,000.” The speaker added that a comparable new natural-gas unit would cost “close to about $400,000.”
The resolution was presented under new business with details on the sweeper’s brushes and systems for bridge surfaces and gutters. A motion to adopt the resolution was moved and seconded; the board responded with aye and the chair announced Resolution 2025-14 was approved.
The board did not provide further details in the meeting about financing or maintenance obligations tied to the purchase; the agreement appears to follow the companion action approved earlier by the county commissioners, according to the chair’s remarks. The board did not record a named mover or seconder on the meeting transcript.
Next steps: implementers should confirm transfer logistics, ownership and any required registration or maintenance agreements with Muncie Sanitary District before the sweeper is put in service.
