He cited Indiana Department of Transportation (NDOT) traffic counts near the intersection of State Road 61 and Oak Grove Road showing 1,429 vehicles per day at a nearby point and estimated conservative peak‑period backups of roughly 10–32 vehicles during loading. "Because of this, I feel like it's a public safety interest to go ahead and do something there," Lampkin said.
County Engineer Bobby Howard and other staff said they will review Lampkin's address and coordinate with the school corporation’s transportation director to determine whether the bus can safely pull into the driveway, whether a short gravel pull‑off is feasible on the property/easement, or whether operational changes (pickup location or driver practices) are the better remedy. Staff agreed to follow up with Lampkin after the meeting.
