At the Oct. 16 meeting the Warrick County Solid Waste Management District approved a staff request to sell back 80 hours of paid time off.
Reagan presented a written request and supporting emails; the gross sell-back amount on the form was $2,123.81. The board discussed whether the county handbook required council or auditor review for PTO sell-backs. Staff reported the county council administrator (Crystal) and HR indicated the district could process the request without council review. Counsel described the standard form (Form 144) as poorly suited to the district’s payroll and suggested the board could accept the request directly and suspend the portions of the handbook requiring auditor/council reporting for district-specific PTO sell-backs.
A motion to approve Reagan’s sell-back and to suspend the requirement for reporting to the county council and auditor was moved and seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
