District construction staff presented progress reports on multiple building projects and said overall schedules remain on track.
For West Hardin Middle School, the presenter reported phasing work (Areas D through A). Area D structural work and roof slabs were described as nearly complete, with interior finishes, HVAC/electrical/plumbing rough-ins and temporary heating to begin as areas dry in. The presenter said exterior brick and spray-foam work will follow in coming weeks.
On the child nutrition facility, staff described clearing, grading, demolition of the old building (July 2024), a detention basin installation for stormwater management, and ongoing MEP rough-ins; office space brickwork and window/door installation were reported as nearly done. The presenter said the child nutrition project is expected to be finished "no later than May" of the coming year and noted a large freezer and insulated, two-layer slab for dry storage.
Trojan Way Elementary (planned to replace North Park) is currently out to bid with proposals due on December 4; the district said it expects direction in January and anticipates finishing the project in 2028, with additional drone-based surveying used for site work.
Construction presenters repeatedly emphasized internal work continuing even when exterior progress seems minimal and told the board the jobs are progressing "nicely" and "on schedule."
