Commissioners move to accept $10,000 EMS paramedic training contract for 2026 class

Commissioners considered renewing the EMS paramedic program contract for the program director and supporting services on Nov. 19. Staff said the contract mirrors the county's arrangement over the previous four years, asked that it be in place by Jan. 1 so the class could be advertised and students interviewed in January, and noted the class might run into 2027 depending on timing.

Staff reported the contracted amount as $10,000 for the year, described as roughly $8.33 per month across the contract term, and noted the contract term covers months when a class is active (if the class ends early, payments would stop). A commissioner moved to accept the contract; the motion was seconded and recorded for the minutes. The contract's signature lines were discussed and were to include the auditor/finance staff and other signatories as appropriate.

Next steps: staff will circulate the contract with the required signature lines and proceed with the advertised timeline for the January interviews and an April 2026 class start if schedule and funding permit.
