The Wetumpka City Council approved several administrative measures at its work session, including renewing a two-year line of credit, approving minutes, and authorizing emergency procurement for a bus engine.
Minutes: The council approved minutes from the Nov. 17, 2025 meeting after a motion and second; the item passed by voice vote.
Line of credit: Councilors voted to renew a line of credit for two years, maturing Dec. 20, 2027. A motion and second were made and the council approved the renewal by voice vote.
Senior center bus engine: Staff explained that both of the city’s senior center buses were inoperable and that one lift was down. The council voted to suspend the rules and consider immediate ordering of a replacement engine priced at $7,695.40. The motion to suspend rules and the subsequent motion to proceed were approved on roll call; Council members Tucker, Justice, Gant, Brown and Mayor Willis recorded yes votes.
Why it matters: staff said restoring at least one bus with a working lift is necessary to maintain senior transportation services before scheduled replacement cycles in early 2027. The council recorded its approvals during the work session and directed staff to order the engine and monitor procurement.
