Canal Winchester City Council accepted an annexation application Dec. 1 for approximately 111.2 acres at 5593 Hayes Road, immediately west of the Miller Farms development.

Development Director Lucas Hare said the property was subject to a prior agreement with the city for Miller Farms zoning and that Franklin County Commissioners approved the annexation application on Sept. 23. Hare noted that more than 60 days had passed as required under the revised code, so the city could now consider acceptance.

Council moved the resolution to full council and adopted it by roll call later in the meeting. The resolution accepts the application; subsequent zoning, land-use and infrastructure decisions will follow the city's normal review and permitting processes.
