Mohave County on Dec. 1 adopted a revised fee schedule for county parks and fairgrounds, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The revisions follow Department of Revenue guidance that certain park fees are subject to the DPT tax and include credit-card fees in posted charges.

Staff said the schedule makes several structural changes: Davis Camp and South Beach are shifting from a per-person charge to a per-vehicle summer entry fee (Davis Camp summer weekends: $35 per vehicle) to simplify enforcement and (staff said) typically lower per-person costs when families travel together. Staff also increased rental fees for areas such as the Oleander area to better reflect market demand and operating needs.

Director Letosky explained the parks have seen stable but slightly declining revenue since the pandemic and the changes are intended to stabilize funding to support capital work, including recently completed Davis Camp dock and water-system upgrades. Supervisors asked when staff would evaluate whether the new summer rates are correct; staff said they would analyze usage after early summer weekends and report mid-June.

Board approved the fee schedule by voice vote. Staff said marketing and regional outreach will continue to attract visitors to county parks while monitoring price sensitivity.

Next steps: Staff will evaluate early summer data and present revenue/attendance analysis mid-summer; fees take effect Jan. 1, 2026.
