District administrators told the board they are launching a "School Community Connections" outreach program to bring community members and business stakeholders into the schools and help them understand district operations, finance and programs.
Marcy said the first audience will be local realtors and that the district plans a January event featuring a presentation and Q&A on school finance and mill rate, plus support materials realtors can share with prospective families. "We worked with the chamber, to get an understanding of the businesses that we have in this area and then decided to kind of narrow it down to realtors," Marcy said, noting the board and administration aim to broaden the audience in future years to include business leaders and retirees.
Administrators described the initiative as aligned with the district's strategic framework priority of community collaboration and said they will pilot the program with a realtor cohort before potentially developing a four-session series in the 2026-27 school year.
Board members expressed support and were invited to help recruit participants. The administration said it will coordinate any promotional push with the board and welcomed trustee assistance with invitations and materials.
