Village Manager Paul opened the public hearing on the Village of Hoffman Estates’ proposed fiscal 2026 budget and told trustees the village complied with statutory notice requirements under 65 ILCS. He said the tentative budget is available for public inspection and that the village published public-notice information in a local newspaper on Nov. 14.
Manager Paul presented the totals in the proposed plan: $228,899,230 in expenses across all funds and $85,185,510 in general-fund expenses. The hearing provided opportunity for public comment; no members of the public signed up to speak.
Later in the meeting the board approved a consent agenda that included “an ordinance adopting the budget for all corporate purposes of the Village of Hoffman Estates” for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and ending Dec. 31, 2026. The board voted on the consent agenda by roll call and the motion carried.
The consent agenda also included a schedule of bills totaling $3,830,273.09 and several bond-abatement ordinances and procurement resolutions (see separate consent-agenda itemization). Manager Paul and trustees said the village will continue to monitor state-level proposals — notably pension-equalization legislation and other potential mandates — that could affect future budgets.
The public hearing is concluded; the ordinance adopting the FY2026 budget was approved by the board as part of the consent agenda and will be effective as provided in the ordinance.
