At its Nov. 12 meeting, the Canfield Local School District Board of Education approved a series of routine but consequential administrative items, including minutes, personnel actions, policy updates, out-of-state field trips and donations.
Minutes: The board motioned to approve the Oct. 8 regular meeting minutes and related special meeting minutes. The motion was made by Campbell and seconded by De Milo; a roll call recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried.
Personnel actions: Based on the superintendent's recommendation, the board approved certified retire/rehire requests, classified retirements and hires, and multiple transfers and reassignments (items a through g). The superintendent noted effective dates and hourly rates where applicable; the board moved and seconded the personnel package and adopted it by roll call.
Policies: The board conducted a second reading and adopted the policies listed in exhibit 7. The superintendent recommended adoption; a motion to adopt passed on roll call.
Field trips: The board approved out-of-state overnight trips presented in exhibit 8, which included special needs classes traveling to Hermitage, Pa. (Dec. 5, 2025), an AP class to a college fair in Pittsburgh (Jan. 28, 2026), and the varsity softball team traveling to North Myrtle Beach in April 2026 (with travel and lodging covered by an external source). The board moved to approve the trips and voted to accept them.
Donations: The board accepted donations totaling $7,605.06 for November to support programs including speech and debate, Interact Club events, the Senior Class Craft Show and CH Campbell classroom materials. Donors and amounts were read into the record and the board approved acceptance by motion and roll call.
