Council delays Free Center resolution pending fundraising, then votes to enter executive session

"We did have 1 resolution, but as was discussed with the ... this free center, they have, secured grant money for that," said Speaker 6. Staff and council noted donations from the Hopeless Foundation and the Sheldon Foundation and that the Community Foundation was still expected to respond. Speaker 6 said the council would likely review the resolution again in two weeks while staff confirm the final funding differential.
Later in the meeting, Speaker 1 moved that the council enter executive session "for 3 items of personnel as well as 1 contract negotiation." The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote, with members responding "Aye." No public action or votes on the Free Center resolution occurred at the work session.
