Enterprise City Schools recognized students and staff across multiple campuses, naming Kaylee Hendricks student of the month and honoring employees including Kim Pike, Justin McPherson and Dolphin Junior High awardees.
Enterprise City Schools used its regular board meeting to recognize students and employees across the district, honoring classroom teachers, support staff and student leaders.
The meeting opened with a student recognition: eighth-grader Kaylee Hendricks was named student of the month; the presenter said Hendricks’s favorite subjects include science and math and praised her participation in the Coppinville show choir "Expressions." The board and administrators also acknowledged family members in the audience.
The board honored Kim Pike as employee of the month and as Coppinville’s support-staff-of-the-year; the presenter described Pike’s front-office role, her reliability and her roughly one-year tenure at Coppinville. Justin McPherson was named teacher of the month and the school’s teacher-of-the-year nominee; McPherson teaches seventh- and eighth-grade STEM, coaches robotics and drones and is in his third year at Coppinville.
At Dolphin Junior High, Principal Johnny Booth introduced Coach Reginald Peterson as employee of the month. Booth said Peterson has been with the school for about five years, serves as an ISS instructor and coaches football and girls basketball, and that he exemplifies the school’s stated values. Booth also introduced Miss Carlene Sessions as teacher of the month and the school’s teacher-of-the-year nominee; colleagues and students described Sessions as caring, energetic and a committed mentor.
Assistant principal Cody Irwin presented Ace Williams as Dolphin’s student of the month, noting that Ace has perfect attendance this school year and serves as an office aide and a role model on and off the court. "Ace has maintained perfect attendance this school year," Irwin said while introducing the student and asking the audience to join in congratulations.
The recognitions segment concluded with district leaders thanking teachers, support staff and families for contributing to the system’s work and noting the district’s recent report-card results.
The board did not take formal policy action during the recognitions beyond the routine acknowledgments; most remarks were expressions of gratitude and short presentations of awards and nominations.
