A TxDOT representative detailed Eads’ nearly two decades of support for transportation projects across North Texas, noting his service on the Regional Transportation Council since 2009 and his role in facilitating agreements for the I‑35 reconstruction and the 35 Express project. The presenter said the award honors Texans who have helped deliver projects that make roads “stronger, more reliable, and safer.”
Judge Andy Eads accepted the recognition on behalf of county staff and the public, praising the county’s bond programs and regional partnerships. “Safety is number one,” Eads said, thanking county staff and TxDOT colleagues and noting the award reflects collaborative work across city, county and state lines.
TxDOT officials who attended included Brian Barth and other Dallas‑area district staff; the court posed for a photo following the presentation.
The award inscription will be added to TxDOT’s Roadhand Hall of Honor at the DeWitt C. Greer Building, the presenter said. No formal action was required beyond the presentation, which the court acknowledged with applause and a brief photo opportunity.
