During the study session’s board discussion segment, members raised two operational and community items.
First, a board member asked whether second-floor classrooms and other locations have appropriate evacuation tools for people who cannot use stairs. District staff said they are collecting bids for evacuation chairs and other equipment, have been meeting with special-education directors, and will select tools that accommodate different body types and operational needs as part of an updated evacuation plan.
Second, members discussed World Kindness Day on Nov. 13 and a possible board visit to the Early Learning Center. Staff and board members agreed to coordinate with building contacts to align a daytime visit with existing programs and to participate in planned student activities.
No formal motions or votes were taken on these items at the study session.
