The court awarded ITB 252883 for a State Highway 114 segment at Championship Parkway Circle to JR West Texas Concrete, LLC and approved a $2.7 million transfer from the Permanent Improvement Fund to support the State Highway 114 Championship project construction contract.
Interlocal cooperation agreements were approved with the City of Fort Worth for the Highway 114 Championship Parkway project (estimated project cost $5,000,000; Denton County contribution not to exceed $3,500,000) and with the City of Frisco for the Teal Parkway project (estimated project cost $8,900,000; Denton County contribution not to exceed $3,000,000). The court also approved Amendment 3 to the HOK owner-architect agreement for the Sally Beauty Building project, adding services for a not-to-exceed $140,000 and increasing the agreement total to $4,376,950.
A supplemental agreement with Tignall and Perkins, Inc. for the Justin Northlake project increased the contract by $329,683 to a new total of $11,559,126.76. Other budget amendments approved by unanimous motion included transfers to fund 911 recording software upgrades ($20,618), drug court program support ($195,000), a constable vehicle transmission replacement ($4,666), and $2,712,895 for State Highway 114 construction funding.
All votes recorded on the meeting record were unanimous and most motions were characterized by commissioners as routine approvals necessary to continue ongoing projects. One transcript line for the Memorial Drive widening amendment contained an implausible $300 billion figure; the court’s motion increased Denton County’s contribution from $2,350,000 to an amount not to exceed $6,000,000, and the $300 billion notation appears to be a transcription or typographical error.
