Board staff previewed a new Eastern Delaware County JRD website landing page during the Dec. 1 meeting and asked for feedback before going live.
The presenter said the account was set up through the City of Sunbury but can be transferred to the JRD; the landing page will include a link to the community survey while it is open, a meetings-and-minutes link (pointing to Sunbury’s meeting repository), a contact form, and placeholders for photos and partner links. “So this is I mean, if you think about this mostly as, I guess, a landing page… we could also build this out a little bit more with information about who you are,” the presenter said.
Board members discussed who would administer the site and whether a JRD board member (Jody) should serve as an admin while Sunbury staff initially handle inquiries. Several members said the district should adopt a donations policy before soliciting gifts or sponsorships. Domain and hosting costs were described as modest and likely to be added to the 2026 budget if needed.
Members also discussed the possibility of AI-driven chat features to help visitors find information; some members expressed caution and suggested a cyber policy would be needed. Volunteer Joey Thomas of the City of Sunbury offered to provide photography and video content for the site.
The presenter said the site could go live in its current, minimal form as early as the next day if members approve, and promised to send the URL to board members for review. The board asked staff to explore options for migrating meeting minutes or hosting documents directly on the JRD site so the landing page does not appear to be heavily Sunbury-centric.
