The Eastern Delaware County Joint Recreation District voted unanimously Dec. 1 to approve Resolution 2025-13, a late-year amendment to the district’s fiscal 2025 budget to cover higher-than-expected legal expenses.
Staff told the board the change moves $463 from the insurance line and $500 from consulting services to raise the legal-fee appropriation from $10,000 to $10,009.63, covering outstanding invoices for the current year. “We need to move the money from the leftover funds from the insurance line item… and then I moved another $500 from the consultant line item to basically increase the legal fees from $10,000 to $10,009.63,” the staff presenter said.
Board members removed an inaccurate reference to having met “virtually” earlier in the resolution text before taking the vote. Mister Elliott moved the amended resolution and Mister Coy seconded; the roll call recorded six ayes and the motion carried.
The presenter also noted consulting-service expenses remaining for the year and said the consulting contractor charges a little over $8,100 per month; the December consultant invoice remains outstanding. No further public comment or amendments were made. The board’s action was limited to the appropriation reallocation to cover the identified legal expense shortfall.
The district’s next regular meeting is set for Jan. 12, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Sunbury Town Hall.
