The South Fayette Township School District board on Dec. 2 approved a resolution under Act 1 of 2006 allowing for any property tax increase for the 2026–27 fiscal year not to exceed the district’s base index of 4.5 percent and directed that a copy of the approved resolution be filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Superintendent and director of finance Brian Neely presented the resolution and read its provisions aloud. The board moved and seconded the measure and completed a roll-call vote in which members recorded affirmatives; the motion was recorded as carried at the meeting.
On related business-office and personnel matters, the board approved business-office items 1, 2 and 4 and approved education items 1 and 2. The board discussed personnel item 5 (a placeholder approval for an intermediate school building substitute) and agreed to table that item. The meeting also included an agenda amendment to add the resignation of intermediate school principal Tom Kaminski, retroactive to Nov. 28, 2025, and an insurance reimbursement agreement to the personnel section of the agenda.
The board acknowledged the retirement of custodian John Petrillo and thanked him publicly; the transcript records appreciation but does not specify years of service.
