Montgomery County Council took immediate action on multiple supplemental appropriations after closing public hearings on Dec. 2.
Items approved included: a $1,050,000 supplemental appropriation for the Bertonsville Access Road (Department of Transportation), appropriations for Rockville transportation improvements (about $6,816,000 from impact taxes), a $252,274 supplement for Head Start school health services (Department of Health and Human Services), a $1,000,000 Green Bank pilot technology assistance program for Permitting Services, a $10,000,000 federal grant to support achieving net‑zero energy codes (Permitting Services), a $1,500,000 state‑aid appropriation for White's Ferry, a $145,000 appropriation for a work‑your‑loss control program and a $3,814,685 amendment to the MCPS capital program for Healthy Schools. Each item was moved, seconded and approved by hand‑raise per the record.
Council also approved a large special appropriation listed in the packet described as compensation and employee benefit adjustments and local share of pension cost; the transcript records the amount as stated in the packet.
