Trustee Tammy announced at the meeting that the village’s tree lighting — previously postponed to a Sunday — has been postponed again and that a new date will be shared when available. "We did postpone the tree lighting ceremony till Sunday, but we're gonna have to postpone it again," said Trustee Tammy.
Tammy also outlined a slate of Dolton Park District holiday activities scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, including "brunch with Santa and friends" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a holiday ride beginning at 1:30 p.m., a park lighting from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and a holiday bazaar pop-up shop from 6 to 8 p.m. "The park is lit," Tammy said when describing the evening lights event. She asked residents to watch the district’s announcements for any program updates.
Earlier in the announcements period, an unidentified speaker reminded residents to take extra safety precautions during the holidays, urging people to keep porch lights and exterior areas well lit to stay aware of their surroundings. The speaker said, "Keep your porch lights on and light stay heavily lit wherever you are just to make sure that you're watching your surroundings, during this holiday season." The speaker did not identify a department or office for enforcement or extra patrols.
A community "tea with the trustee" was also announced for Dec. 13 at 9:30 a.m., described as the last such event of the year, to be held at the Dolton Field House (venue and address provided in the meeting transcript). Trustee Tammy said she will notify residents when the tree lighting is rescheduled; there were no votes or formal actions on these items at the meeting.
Meeting participants were not given additional budget or operational details for the events during the announcements period. For updates on scheduling or location clarifications, residents should watch official Dolton Park District communications.
