The Baltimore City Council Land Use & Transportation Committee on Dec. 1 recommended four routine zoning bills favorable to the full council.
Chair Ryan Dorsey moved, on behalf of the sponsor, that the committee recommend council bill 25-0055 (conditional use parking lot; 701 Murrah St.) favorable with a law-department amendment inserting the phrase “for a variance” where omitted. The committee adopted the amendment by voice vote and recommended the bill favorable to the council. The companion measure, council bill 25-0056 (702 Murrah St.), received the same amendment and a favorable recommendation.
The committee also recommended council bill 25-0073, which would convert a property at 1100 Wicomico St. to a banquet hall in the IMU-1 zoning district, and council bill 25-0090, a zoning conversion to two dwelling units at 220 North Culver St., both favorable after the committee confirmed findings of fact taken at prior hearings.
All four bills were recommended to the full council and are scheduled to be considered at the council’s next meeting on Thursday at 5 p.m. The committee recorded the adoption of technical amendments and the sponsor-driven motions in the meeting minutes; voice tallies were used and no roll-call vote with named tallies was recorded in the transcript.
The chair noted the actions were procedural recommendations to the council and that final enactment remains with the full city council.
