Sheriff and corrections funding
Calen Carrias, the Marion County Sheriff's CFO, told the committee the office needed to "true up" the budget after collective-bargaining agreements were signed. The sheriff’s office requested an additional appropriation of $6,830,650, a transfer of $1,236,000 and a $630,650 reduction in the Medical Care for Inmates fund, which Carrias said reflected credits from the medical services contract for unfilled positions. The proposal was approved by voice vote.
