"He was a guiding force throughout my youth," the eulogist said, adding that Calvo "built pathways for us" and encouraged young leaders to serve.
The eulogy listed Calvo’s ties to local civic life and to several families active in Guam politics, and recalled his work on church reconstruction and youth sports leagues. The speaker noted family and community details including Calvo’s long involvement with Our Lady of Lourdes Church, coaching and managing youth sports teams in the 1960s, and an extensive family network cited during the remarks.
After the eulogy, the presiding officer invited Chief Justice Robert J. Torres, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, and representatives of the Mayor’s Council to present wreaths and resolutions, and asked clergy to offer a benediction. Pali Ronpangan led a prayer for comfort for Calvo’s family and the community.
The session then moved back to procedural business. The memorial concluded with the chamber recessed until the next scheduled sitting.
