Grandview reports record rounds (19,681) and growing youth program

At the Nov. 4 meeting, Grandview Pro Shop manager Rachel Johnson summarized the golf season and youth programming.
Johnson said the season concluded with 28 outings benefiting local organizations, successful men's and women's leagues, and a record for the first‑tee youth program, which grew to roughly 15 participants this year. "We doubled the numbers with hosting about or having about 15 kids in our program this year," she told the board.
She reported a year‑to‑date count of 19,681 rounds played at Grandview, an increase of approximately 900 rounds over the prior year. Board members praised the growth and said they hoped the trend continues in future seasons.
Johnson said she will continue efforts to expand youth participation and coordinate events, and board members asked staff to include Grandview event notices in distribution emails so board members can attend when possible.
