Council approves 2026 Downtown Fort Wayne Economic Improvement District budget

Representatives Bob Walters and Frank Howard presented the EID budget to the Finance Committee and said the organization sought the same city funding level as 2025: $250,000 for operations. Councilman Hartman moved the do-pass recommendation in committee; the committee vote was recorded as 9-0 and the ordinance passed in the regular session 9-0.
Council members thanked EID representatives for their work on downtown events and improvements and noted the reauthorization process earlier in October.
The budget approval authorizes the EID to proceed with its 2026 operations funded in part by the city appropriation.
