The Anderson City Redevelopment Commission voted to approve Draw 19 for the ongoing retail project, after staff presented a revised pay application and accompanying notes.
Unidentified Staff (Speaker 5) told commissioners they received a revised draw from the contractor and that Michael McElmwood had annotated it. Staff said some equipment scheduled in the draw was removed because it was in a warehouse that staff had not been able to inspect. "They did have some equipment that they pulled off of that, because we weren't going to ... authorize unless we could actually see the equipment," the staff member said.
Commissioners pressed for schedule updates. Unidentified Speaker 5 said the contractor is conducting a soft opening this week and plans a grand opening in November. The staff member also said the construction manager will provide weekly schedule updates, including a Gantt chart showing progress and outstanding work.
A motion to approve the draw was made and seconded; no commissioners registered questions during the vote, and the chair called for vocal approval. Commissioners answered 'Aye' and the draw was approved.
Staff did not provide a line-by-line tally of the vote in the record. The commission asked staff to circulate the contractor's Gantt chart and weekly schedule updates to commissioners going forward.
