The Anderson City Board of Works approved a secondary plat on December 2 for a planned McDonald’s at roughly the 1400 block of South Ravell Avenue, a B1-zoned parcel on the city’s west side.

Unidentified Speaker 7 presented the plat and said McDonald’s purchased 1.35 acres and plans a 4,500-square-foot restaurant with 62 parking spaces and a dual drive-through. The site was described as across from Taco Bell and north of the main post office; the plat shows standard setbacks and existing sidewalks. Staff asked the board to accept easements, dedications and the secondary plat.

Unidentified Speaker 2 moved to approve the secondary plat as requested by Mr. Styers; Speaker 1 seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. Board members and staff discussed outstanding drainage permits: staff indicated they had progressed with the drainage permit process but anticipated the drainage permit to be finalized within about a month before construction begins.

The motion approved the plat and related dedications; construction timing was described as early next year pending final permits and plan completion.
