Chief Dutes (Speaker 10) told the board that Stryker supplies the city's ambulance cots, Lucas machines and stair chairs and that only two companies make this type of equipment; he said the purchase will replace aging gear and that the city's attorney reviewed the contract. "Stryker is what we use right now," Speaker 10 said. He explained that the warranty plan would be budgeted from the equipment fund and would roll into prior heart-monitor purchase accounting.
Mayor (Speaker 1) moved to ratify the contract and the board approved the motion by voice vote. City staff said the procurement required timely action because vendor pricing was changing, and staff executed the contract on Oct. 13 to lock in the price; the board subsequently ratified it.
Staff identified no legal objections from the city attorney during the review; the board recorded the ratification to formalize the earlier execution.
