Goshen board authorizes mayor to sign $1M matching-grant commitment for CCMG application

Brad Minnick of the engineering department told the board the city is preparing a CCMG application through "NDOT" and "can be awarded up to $1,000,000." He asked the board to approve and authorize Mayor Gina Lechte to sign the required financial commitment letter stating Goshen will meet the local match for the requested amount. "The application is due on Halloween," Minnick said, and added that a signed letter must accompany the application.
During the item the board confirmed the city has budgeted funds to meet the commitment; an unidentified board member said, "We do have the money budgeted for that commitment." A motion to approve and authorize the mayor to sign the financial commitment letter was made, seconded, and approved by a unanimous 'Aye' vote.
The board did not discuss the specific match amount, match sources or a project list tied to the application during the meeting. The authorization allows staff to submit the CCMG application with the mayor's signed commitment; the application deadline was stated as the end of the month.
