Aaron Stevens, administrative resource officer with the Richmond Police Department, appeared before the Board of Works Oct. 30 to request a new handicap parking sign for 333 Richmond Avenue.
Stevens told the board he had personally inspected the site and concluded that the location’s off-road status — as opposed to on-road parking — was sufficient to justify a new handicapped parking sign. A board member moved to approve the request and the motion carried by voice vote.
Stevens also presented a renewal request for an existing handicap sign at 305 South 7th Street, stating that the site status had not changed. The board approved the renewal after a motion and second, again by voice vote.
Both actions were recorded on the meeting record as approved; the transcript does not show a roll-call tally or the names of individual board members casting votes. The approvals permit the City to install or maintain the indicated handicapped parking signage under whatever local implementation process the public works or police departments follow.
