Tinley Park committee advances bond scheduling, approves pay-scale update and removes two 2026 meeting dates

The Tinley Park Committee of the Whole voted on several procedural agenda items after the audit presentation.
Item 6, concerning 1988 limited sales tax bonds, was moved to the full board for final action at the Dec. 16 meeting. A motion to move the item was made and seconded; the clerk's roll call recorded Trustee Brady, Trustee Brenner, Trustee Mueller, Trustee Shaw and Trustee Salk voting "Yes," and the motion carried.
The board then considered Item 7, an amendment to the pay-scale ordinance (pay plan update for December 2025). A motion to approve was seconded and the clerk called the roll. Trustees voting "Yes" included Trustee Brady, Trustee Brown, Trustee Mueller, Trustee Shaw and Trustee Salazar; the motion carried.
On Item 8, Clerk Gedette told the Committee that the Open Meetings Act now prohibits holding regular or special meetings on election day and that two dates included in the draft 2026 schedule (March 17 and Nov. 3) needed to be removed. "We cannot have regular or special meetings on election day," Clerk Gedette said. The Committee voted to remove those dates; the roll call recorded yes votes from trustees and the motion carried.
The Committee opened the floor for public comment and the record reflected there were none. A motion to adjourn passed on roll call and the Committee recessed to reset the recording equipment.
Actions recorded in the Committee of the Whole transcript were procedural: moving Item 6 to Dec. 16 for board approval; adoption of the pay-scale amendment; removal of two tentative 2026 meeting dates because of the Open Meetings Act; and adjournment of the Committee.
