City staff provided an informational fiscal update on Dec. 2, noting the BID account is fluid as license-fee revenue is seasonal and business-license renewals are due Jan. 1.
Staff first stated, "The ending balance of last fiscal year, which was June 30, was $28,591.02," and then later corrected or restated a different year-end figure as $33,591.02. Staff said projected BID-fee revenue for the current fiscal year is about $35,000 and estimated expenditures about $40,000, noting holiday-season expenses and upcoming costs such as controller boxes.
A board member asked what the current on-hand balance was given outstanding expenses; staff emphasized the timing of license-fee receipts and said figures will be clearer after renewals. The board discussed that some unrecorded or anticipated expenses (including seasonal decorations and controller boxes) will affect available funds.
Separately, a board member reported website updates: several businesses submitted updates and will be added to the BID site, including Kingsburg First Baptist Church, RPS Real Estate, Kingsburg Media Foundation, Alvarado Bennett Company CPA, Kingsburg Glass and Door, Loving Seed, Kingsburg Covenant, Something Enchanted & Co., and Wynn Marketing Agency.
Next steps: staff will continue to monitor revenues and expenditures and return with updated budget figures at a future meeting.
