The Marathon County Environmental Resources Committee on Dec. 2 took several procedural and housekeeping actions.
Minutes: The committee approved the Nov. 4, 2025 committee minutes after Supervisor Stormborn noted a typographical correction (the minutes used “resend” where “rescind” was intended). The motion, including the correction, carried by voice vote.
Rezoning petition (Chad Deach): The committee heard staff’s report on a petition to rezone a parcel in the Town of Elderon (Lot 1 of CSM #18166) and, after no public opposition appeared, Supervisor Rick Seefeldt moved and Supervisor Sorenborn seconded a motion recommending approval to the Marathon County Board of Supervisors; the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
County forest items: The committee approved the annual county forest work plan and the county’s participation in the County Forest Acreage Share Loan Program (a resolution allowing the county to continue in the loan program where monies are repaid through timber-sale tax revenues). Both items were presented as routine, required by county forest law and DNR, and were forwarded to the County Board for approval.
Adjournment: The committee set its next meeting for Jan. 6, 2026, and adjourned by voice vote.
